Emergency Response Ambulance Service
was established in 1985 when Minidoka Memorial Hospital purchased the
service from Minidoka County. Prior to that it had been a privately
owned service. We now employ 5 full time and 20 part time Basic and
Advanced EMTs. We are staffed 24 hours a day with a Basic and an
Advanced EMT team and have another team on call should we need them.
We have a fleet of three ambulances, two of which are four-wheel drive
and a fourth mass casualty incident management unit is being
developed.
Emergency Response Ambulance provides emergency medical response and
transport for Minidoka County with a service area of 762 miles and a
population of 22,000 people. I-84 traverses the county east to west
for approximately 15 miles. In addition, there are 72 miles of state
highway in the county. There is an additional 608 miles of county and
city roads in Minidoka County. Emergency Response Ambulance also
provides transportation to patients needing to go to Salt Lake, Idaho
Falls, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Boise. We also provide public
education and stand by service for community events and school
functions.
