Emergency Response Ambulance
Emergency Response Ambulance service is owned and operated by Minidoka Memorial Hospital. It was the first unit in the state of Idaho to convert to the new state standards (2011). We currently have 30 EMT’s both full and part-time. We keep two ambulances staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as well as a third ambulance crew just a page away. One unit is at the hospital, the second crew is on call at home ready to respond if needed. We also cover many county events including four different school’s football games, horse races, rodeos, wrestling events, motor cross, and we work with four fire departments. We are also on standby for any structure fire. Also, we have a great working relationship with the Life Flight Network based at the Burley Airport.
We sponsor trainings for ourselves as well as the Quick Response Units in the county. After all they are a lifesaver for the outlying areas. They can arrive to the scene and start lifesaving care prior to our arrival. We also do patient transfers to other surrounding area hospitals for long term care and hospice patients.
Our coverage area entails 762 square miles which involves interstate 84. We cover Jerome County, Minidoka County, and Cassia County, as well as 72 state highway miles, 608 miles of country and city roads into Cassia, Jerome, Blaine, Lincoln and Power counties.
